Welcome To Our Website

Worcester Angling Society is believed to be the second oldest coarse angling club in the country and has provided quality fishing to residents of Worcester City since 1838. It provides a wide variety of angling to anyone residing within a 15 mile radius of the City centre, and there are a limited number of places allocated to anglers that live outside of this boundary.

The Society controls fishing on three beats of the River Teme renowned for its barbel and chub fishing which total approximately three miles.West Diglis on the River Severn renowned for its barbel, chub,bream,pike and zander. Pard House Farm on the River Teme, has some exceptional grayling fishing.Three beats on the river Wye at Bishopswood, near Ross-on-Wye. The Society also owns a pool at Brockamin near Leigh, which offers fishing for carp, roach, rudd, bream and tench. Social Distancing

Due to the Covid 19 pandemic social distancing of at least 2 meters should be followed at all times. Please do not go fishing if you or anybody in your household have symptoms of Covid 19. Environment Agency

Any angler wishing to fish in any of the society’s waters must be in possession of a current Environment Agency license.

External Membership – Unfortunately this is currently full and we will not be taking anymore names for the waiting list.

Social Media– It is totally against club rules to post any pictures and comments on websites ,social media sites, forums etc. Any members who do not strictly adhere to this rule will be suspended from fishing club waters immediately. Pending further action from the clubs committee.

Swimbooker – You can now access our day permits, via swimbooker.com. You must purchase a day permit before fishing our waters. The phone signal at Bishopswood is very poor. Please download any day tickets via Swimbooker before you get to the river.

Please note that the full local member is somebody who lives within 15 miles of the city centre. Full external member Is somebody who lives outside of the 15 miles.

In addition to the applicable fee you also need to pay a joining fee of £15.

All members should have received postal or email renewals. Please get in touch if you have not received yours.

Litter – it is the responsibility of every member to make sure that the peg they have fished in, is clear of litter when they leave. The society have some excellent waters and we need to keep the banks litter free. Thank you for your cooperation.

Important updates. Due to water rental increases day ticket prices will be the following . River Severn and Teme £10 per ticket. Wye Lower Bishopswood £15 per ticket below the Walford canoe launch only. Day tickets must be purchased before commencing fishing. No pay on the bank.

Important Notice – WAS are no longer selling day tickets from BISHOPSWOOD GARAGE. Tickets can be purchased by messaging the WAS Facebook page and bank transfer, Charlie at the Canoe launch café or at Alans Tackle in Worcester. Please do not use the email contact on the website as this takes longer to get a reply.
